OUR LADY OF THE ANGELS PROVINCE VOCATION OFFICE OF THE FRANCISCAN FRIARS . . . On May 5, 2014, the former Immaculate Conception Province and the former St. Anthony of Padua Province joined into one new province, under the title and patronage of Our Lady of the Angels, so that our Conventual Franciscan life will be lived more authentically and so that we can serve the people of God more effectively.
Since two provinces united, so too was it important to unite different offices which had existed in both provinces. A new Vocation office location for Our Lady of the Angels Province was also established. Previously, St. Anthony of Padua Province had an office in Baltimore, Maryland, and Immaculate Conception Province had an office in Syracuse, New York. The new Vocation Office is in Brooklyn, New York, which is more centrally located within the Eastern North America area of Our Lady of the Angels Province territory (Ontario~Canada to Florida~USA).
We are so excited to announce the new office and to let everyone know that you can contact the new vocation director, Fr. Russell Governale, OFM Conv. at vocations@olaprovince.org. The new phone number for the vocation office is: 718-510-5822.
One of our friars' main missions during the next four years is vocations promotion. A group of friars from Toronto, Buffalo, Massachusetts, New York, Maryland, Georgia and Florida have accepted the challenge to be "regional directors." Our friends who read our website will have the opportunity to visit any of those friars' locations, in addition to Fr. Russell, in the New York office.
Please take a moment to visit our Conventual Franciscans in North America website: www.franciscans.org, where you will find more helpful vocation information.
Our Lady of the Angels Province will hold our next "Come and See" weekend on November 13-16, 2014. It will be held in Maryland and will allow men, interested in our life, to meet other friars in formation and see how our friars live and work. Feel free to write or call the New York based Vocations Office about this event or if you have any vocation questions.
May St. Francis intercede for you and may God fill you will abundant blessings.
