A parishioner speaks: “My seventeen-year old daughter came home from Mass on Sunday morning and announced to the family that she was going to tithe.  A high school senior with a part-time job, she’s willing to make a sacrificial offering.”

100th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it!  We are especially glad today as we celebrate, in thanksgiving, the 100th anniversary of St. Casimir Church.

As we observe this anniversary, we remember those who were parishioners at the church’s beginnings, those who steadfastly supported its growth throughout the years up to the present day, and those, especially our young people, who will see it through to another century.

As much as we anticipated this day, we need to remain aware of the fact that today is not the culmination of the observance but the beginning of a year-long commitment to thoughtful reflection on where we’ve been and where we plan to be in our lives and in our church in the coming years.

Every liturgical and social celebration in our church this year will in some way be linked to the observance of the centennial–the most important link, however, is you.

PERMANENT DEACON FORMATION PROGRAM

The Division of Clergy Personnel is hosting information sessions outlining the admission requirements, screening process and formation program for the (Permanent) Deacon Program.  Sessions will be held on Wednesday, November 20 at 7:30 PM at St. John (Columbia) Wilde Lake Interfaith Center and Sunday, November 24 at 2:30 PM at St. Mary (Govans).  If you plan to attend, please call the office at 410/547-5427.

THANKSGIVING MASS

On Thanksgiving Day, November 28, Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 AM in the Church instead of 8:00 AM Mass. Please join us for this Mass of Thanksgiving.
